How We Review

Last updated: November 2026

Every review on HealthMag Review follows the same process and is scored against the same criteria, which we set before looking at any individual product. This keeps comparisons fair and stops a commission from deciding the outcome.

Our scoring criteria

Criterion Weight What we look at
Ingredient evidence 30% Quality of published human research on each key ingredient, at the dose actually used
Label transparency 20% Full ingredient list with doses, no hidden proprietary blends
Safety 20% Known side effects, interactions, regulator warnings, third-party testing
Value 15% Price per day compared with buying the same ingredients separately
Company and refund terms 15% Clear contact details, honest marketing, and refund policies that work in practice

Our process

  1. Label review. We record every ingredient and dose from the official label.
  2. Evidence check. We look for human studies on each ingredient in sources such as PubMed, the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements and Cochrane reviews.
  3. Safety check. We search FDA, TGA, MHRA and Health Canada warnings and recall databases.
  4. Company check. We read the full terms, refund policy and subscription conditions.
  5. Complaint check. We look for genuine customer complaints on independent platforms.
  6. Score and verdict. We score the product against the criteria above and write a plain-English verdict, including who should avoid it.

What we will not do

  • Claim a supplement treats, cures or prevents any disease
  • Publish fake testimonials or invented expert credentials
  • Change a score because of a commission
